dark is the new black

ooc; okay, so I figured the easiest way for me to do this was to set up the post and then set up two different threads: one for canon-alignment shifted Peony, one for AUDark!Peony, so...yes. :|b

Yeah, but you need a lot more help than they do. Just look at your clothes.

You mean my uniform, Your Majesty?

[identity profile] imperiator.livejournal.com 2011-08-21 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
Let's put that on our agenda for today's meeting with Sesseman. Redesign the Malkuth uniform so Jade doesn't look so bad.
clinical: (your structure's fine)

[personal profile] clinical 2011-08-21 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
[Jade decides that clearly all of his vague feelings of something being wrong were totally off-base. EVERYTHING IS NORMAL.] I'll be interested to hear where you find a place in the budget for the reissuing of all of our soldier's clothing.

[identity profile] imperiator.livejournal.com 2011-08-21 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sure someone around here could help me with creative bookkeeping. Hell, half these guys do it behind my back anyway. They shouldn't have a problem with doing it for me once in a while.
clinical: (curling up slowly)

[OH GODDAMMIT why do you keep taking his reassured-ness from him] Surprising as it may be, that short term solution tends to create long-term problems. If you do believe any of the people who work for you manipulate the numbers, I'd be more than happy to start an investigation to find them out.

[Lawful Neutral forever.]

[Peony just laughs]

You take things so seriously. You need to relax.
clinical: (that I made a mistake in my life)

[personal profile] clinical 2011-08-21 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
You do more than enough relaxing for the both of us.

[identity profile] imperiator.livejournal.com 2011-08-21 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe we should switch it up. You can relax, and I'll go talk to Sesseman myself.
clinical: (that I made a mistake in my life)

[personal profile] clinical 2011-08-21 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
As intelligence as Your Majesty claims to be, I don't think you're quite able to stand in for me.

[identity profile] imperiator.livejournal.com 2011-08-21 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Then I'll stand with you. I should be more involved with these things.
clinical: (count them as they go)

[personal profile] clinical 2011-08-21 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
If that's what Your Majesty wishes. [Weirdest whims.]

[identity profile] imperiator.livejournal.com 2011-08-21 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
[Peony pats Jade's head]

That's what I like to hear. So what's this meeting about today?
clinical: (long-winded blues of the never)

[personal profile] clinical 2011-08-21 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
[Moving the hand away because :|] We were discussing the situation of the replicas we've taken in as they've begun to settle. I asked to look over the reports myself.

[identity profile] imperiator.livejournal.com 2011-08-21 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
And what is the situation?
clinical: (all to catch a bird's eye view)

[personal profile] clinical 2011-08-21 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
The problem is mainly infrastructural, so that's the area we need to focus on. It's akin to taking in thousands of new children without any parents. But replicas, unfortunately, aren't quite as endearing to all the foster parents who might take orphans in.

[identity profile] imperiator.livejournal.com 2011-08-21 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Can't we do something with them here? Take them in, teach them some skills, give them work. We can train them for military service, civil service, whatever.
clinical: (in letting go I am so proud)

[personal profile] clinical 2011-08-21 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
That's certainly a possibility. The replica research I did proved that replicas are particularly easy to program for basic manual labour. But they'll need more than that to have the chance to be their own human beings.

[identity profile] imperiator.livejournal.com 2011-08-21 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
We can educate them, too, I'm sure.

[a pause] Gailardia might be a good resource for this. He has experience with this kind of thing.
clinical: (the city in white is dyed)

[personal profile] clinical 2011-08-21 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
You mean with raising Luke? Perhaps. But we don't have the sort of resources that would let each replica get the treatment of a Duke's only son.

[identity profile] imperiator.livejournal.com 2011-08-21 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
We can set up centers though. It might not be the one on one care, but it would give them safety, security, and at least one caretaker for every dozen or two dozen replicas.
clinical: (your methods dot the disconnect)

[personal profile] clinical 2011-08-21 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
You'll want to offer similar aid to ordinary human children. Special treatment for replica will breed public resentment.

[identity profile] imperiator.livejournal.com 2011-08-21 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
Man, people always find something to get resentful over. Maybe if they spent less time resenting things and more time actually trying to fix things, we wouldn't have half the problems we do.
clinical: (why do some show no mercy?)

[personal profile] clinical 2011-08-21 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
Then they wouldn't be humans, Your Majesty.

[identity profile] imperiator.livejournal.com 2011-08-21 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
I'm starting to think Vandesdelca had the right idea.
