Most of theoretical research is tied up in a new energy source. I think mechanically we can help with that--and when a source is found, we'll need to develop engines and means of storing and conducting that energy.

What scope did you want this project to have? Budget and team-wise?

I don't know, what would you suggest? I'm sick of Malkuth being behind the times. We have one of the best fontech experts at our disposal, it's about time we started taking advantage of that.

[His mind of course goes to Dist when Peony mentions the best fontech expert.]

You want Dist to be on the project? I think that's probably a good idea if he agrees to it.

He is one of the world's leading experts on fonic technology. Despite his eccentricities, he'd be an asset.

I don't know with that guy. I'd like to think our friendship and history makes some kind of difference, but you know how he is about Jade. He sees anyone that gets in between him and Jade as an enemy, and sometimes that even includes me - or you for that matter, I bet.

I'm not sure he ever really noticed me specifically. It was always Jade.

He's like that. But if he thinks you're replacing him as far as Jade's concerned, with your superior abilities and expertise in fontech, who knows.

Exactly. But, if you want to try talking to him, I wouldn't object. The most important thing is you're involved. You're the future, and I'm sure you have more than enough bright ideas that you can do this with or without Saphir.
